This REG business unit offers its customers disposal and recycling services for technical rubber waste and waste accumulated in the course of production.

REG guarantees that all disposed waste and residuals are utilized in a cost-effective and efficient manner. At the same time everything is done to ensure that the customer's requirements and specifications are strictly complied with.

Safe waste disposal manner

Rejects in tire production often display quality defects that are not apparent to the naked eye. These tires are, nonetheless, completely unsuited to vehicle use. Used on vehicles, they would pose an acute risk of accident and injury.
As part of its work REG makes sure that tire rejects or other sensitive production waste is not in any way marketed. We guarantee that waste of this kind is delivered directly to disposal facilities and immediately destroyed.

In the case of technical rubber waste, REG makes a distinction between

• contaminated rubber waste and
• pure cured rubber waste without contamination.

Contaminated rubber waste

Contaminated rubber waste includes vulcanized and unvulcanized rubber waste containing metal and fabric elements as well as all colored rubber waste. This type of waste is shredded ar REG partner processing facilities approved in compliance with the federal emissions protection act. By repeat processing the waste can be reduced to as small as 20 mm to accomodate the requirements of the recycling company being supplied.

The various batches are then largely used in cement plants to obtain the requisite temperature for the production of clincers or in power stations to generate energy.

The material is also used to a certain extent at pyrolytic facilities to recover the heavy-oil content in rubber.

Pure cured rubber waste

This waste material refers to completely cured black rubber waste without metal or fabric content derived from the manufacture of technical products. This material is made available to operators of granulating plants for shredding and subsequent use in the manufacture of recycling products.
